NYC Woman’s Dog Survives Being Shot in the Mouth by Ex-Boyfriend Who Beat Her …
Article from ABC News:

A year-old pit bull named Honey survived being shot point blank in the mouth by her owner’s ex-boyfriend during an argument at her Brooklyn apartment in New York City, according to Honey’s owner and a criminal court complaint.

Honey’s owner, Asha Stringfield, 24, told ABC News today that she has a restraining order against her 47-year-old ex-boyfriend, Kenneth White, who she said attacked her after he got annoyed about the food she had at her house and jealous about another male friend of hers. The restraining order was confirmed by court documents obtained by ABC News.

White “repeatedly punched” Stringfield in her head and face, grabbed her by the throat, pulled her off the bed by her hair and pointed a gun to her face, asking her to give him “two reasons not to shoot” her, according to a criminal court complaint filed in Brooklyn Criminal Court.

Newark child in critical condition after dog attack
Article from The Star-Ledger:

NEWARK — A 10-year-old child from the city’s Ironbound is in critical condition this afternoon after being mauled by two pit bulls inside a city apartment this morning, Newark police said.

The child was taken to University Hospital with life threatening injuries after the 11:26 a.m. attack inside an apartment on Hawkins Court, police said.

Robert Michael Ricks said he heard the boy screaming and kicked an apartment door open around 11:30 a.m. when he found what he described as two pit bulls mauling and biting the child. Both Ricks and police said the child was at home alone.

“It was a bloody mess,” Ricks said.

Ricks said he wrestled with the dogs for several minutes while the child tried to escape. At one point the boy slid past Ricks and fell down the stairs to the first floor of the apartment complex, but the dogs gave chase.

Police arrived shortly afterward, Ricks said. Police said they were dispatched to the apartment on Hawkins Court after a neighbor reported that a child was being mauled by dogs.
